Space-Based PNT Modernization Update (1.2 MB)

This presentation summarizes the current status of the GPS constellation and outlines the system improvements that are planned as part of the GPS modernization program. It also describes U.S. and international GPS augmentation systems. Final slide describes how GPS was used to pinpoint the best location in Northern Africa for viewing the total solar eclipse of March 29, 2006.
An Arabic-language information booklet about GPS, GPS augmentations, and GPS applications was also handed out at the conference. The text of this booklet is available at www.gps.gov.
